Food insecurity
Caregivers may struggle to afford meals once hospitalization disrupts work and household expenses.
When a child is in the hospital,
a family belongs by their side.
We help with meals, a place to stay, transportation, and everyday essentials—so families can focus on being there.
A mission imagined by Ariana.
A legacy carried forward with love.

Our mission
Sweet Journey 17 supports families whose children are facing extended hospital stays. We help cover practical needs like meals, parking, transportation, lodging, and everyday essentials so parents can focus on what matters most—being there for their child. Your support can help ease these burdens and give a parent the ability to say, “I can stay.”
Why we exist
Extended pediatric care can create a second crisis outside the treatment plan. Everyday costs rise just as income, routines, and family stability are disrupted.
Caregivers may struggle to afford meals once hospitalization disrupts work and household expenses.
When family housing is full, paying for a nearby hotel can become the only way to remain close.
Families may reduce hours or stop working while parking, transportation, childcare, and travel costs continue.

Why presence matters
When a child is in the hospital, being close means sharing the ordinary moments that still matter: a conversation, a meal, a little reassurance.

Her heart. Her idea. Her mission. Her legacy.
From childhood, Ari lived with serious health challenges that affected her breathing, sleep, and energy. Things that looked ordinary from the outside—getting to school, finishing the day, showing up for cheer—could ask far more of her than anyone knew. She kept finding ways to do what she loved, while carrying an understanding of illness that would later shape her dream of becoming a nurse and her wish to help other families.
The heart behind the journeyHow support begins
A hospital or care professional identifies a family with an immediate practical need.
With family knowledge and authorization, the professional submits a support request.
We review the need, available resources, and current program guidelines respectfully.
If approved and resources are available, assistance is coordinated directly or through a provider.
